Just Plain Pix Biography
Just Plain Pix is a husband and wife photography team. Kym is a fine art nature photographer who just happens to be confined to a wheelchair. She is dedicated to photographing all aspects of the natural world and specializes in photographing the eastern plains of Colorado. Kym’s particular joy is in showing people the beauty of the prairie. This beauty is not always evident to those who are just passing through, but to those of us who live in this area, we know that some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets are to be found here almost every day. And there is a special exquisiteness in the sunlight turning a field of wheat into countryside of molten gold. It is certainly not always attractive in the eastern plains, but she endeavors to find those special moments when the “ugly stepsister” to the photogenic ColoradoMountains has an exceptional loveliness all of its own. The vast majority of Just Plain Pix scenic landscape photography was taken from a car, or within ten feet of the road. The splendor that we find in the prairie is easily seen by anyone driving along a Colorado road. Being able to show others the beauty of her newly adopted home brings special meaning to Kym. Being able to produce beautiful images gives Kym the ability to face each new day with joy and a desire to see what beauty she can find in the next moment.
Just Plain Pix also photographs flowers from an up close and personal view that few people ever get to witness. They strive to show the incredible splendor and detail in all flowers, from the lowliest dandelion to the most complex orchid. Their floral macro photography has two different styles, both “in your face” boldness and an abstract design based on color and simplicity. Even the same flower can inspire both photographic styles. Each one gives the viewer a different feeling. Some inspire calm and peacefulness, while others produce a more powerful and forceful sort of mood.
